Give Hope Today.
The dedicated team behind Autism Meets Faith is a rich tapestry of diverse talents and experiences, carefully assembled to serve the unique needs of the children in our care. Comprising individuals with a wealth of experience in business, social services, and special education, the team includes Tear Walker, Theresa and David Heidelmark, Char Akala, and Holly and Michael Odogwu. Together, they work tirelessly to build a spectrum of hope for those they serve.
Our passion for autistic children is rooted in deep personal experience. When my daughter was diagnosed with autism at the age of four, we did not know what to expect as a family. There was a lot of information available, but none of it felt personalized for a working mother raising multiple children.
The challenges were real, and the financial burden of therapies and support services quickly began to grow. Through prayer, perseverance, and hard work, we were able to provide our daughter with early intervention therapies. Over time, my husband and I adapted to life as “autism parents,” learning firsthand what it takes to advocate, support, and push forward even in uncertainty.
That journey inspired a deeper mission: to help other families raising children on the spectrum navigate the same hurdles we faced. Beyond the emotional and psychological toll, the cost of care can be overwhelming—especially for low-income households with limited access to resources.
Autism Meets Faith is driven by compassion, community, and a commitment to empowering children with autism and the families who love them. Thank you for partnering with us to make this vision a reality.
